Losing a Son

Those worldly possessions are stored in boxes in his old bedroom, but she hasn’t had the courage to go through them yet for the emotion involved. Occasionally she has lost herself in his book collection, marvelling at the depth and range of his interests. His collection of books, films, photos, and art was so extensive she wonders if he was on an accelerated time plan during his short life. The clothes she selected to keep were ones she knew from photographs. Her possession of those photograph-specific clothes have helped to preserve his post-life presence, keeping her memories vivid and alive.
